- Based on Questions-based model with framework structured around ‘What’ ‘Where’ ‘Why’ and ‘How’ questions
- The topics draw around the central theme of Health and Wellbeing that crosses over into other core themes for PSHE, Relationships and Living in the Wider World.
- The thematic approach, as advocated by the PSHE Association allows to accommodate a wide variety of abilities of children’s mental, physical, inter-personal and environmental awareness at the Key Stage 2 (Build your programme (pshe-association.org.uk))primary level.
- VHE PSHE education at this level offers knowledge and explicit learning opportunities to build upon pupils’ rapidly increasing independence, and physical and social awareness as they move through the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
While the VHE curriculum centres around the same 12 core themes, the content is modified to appeal to this age-group, as verified by certified medical doctors and educational psychologists.
